We have a Grants program every year to encourage and support studies of raptors in India. We encourage students and universities to apply for Masters/Doctorates.
Small Grants is around Rs 3,00,000/- for projects of 1 year duration.
We also offer larger grants for longer duration.
Download our Questionnaire .docx (see attachment)
Please fill up the Questionnaire in detail. Keep your focus on achievable objectives i.e., do not have too many, which you are unable to achieve. You must demonstrate a clear-cut methodology. Keep a realistic time frame to avoid extending the duration of your study. Please highlight the conservation impact. Our preference is for original, robust, science-based studies instead of project proposals that are of a general 'status survey' type.
Please submit all necessary permissions/permits valid for the duration of your intended project issued by the forest departments along with your project proposal.
Please include your c.v. in the project proposal. If there are other researchers involved then provide their c.v.'s as well.
Please provide complete details of your institution i.e., registration, trustees, PAN No., tax exemption certificates, audited annual reports of the last 3 years, etc.
Please ensure your references (from the scientific community, wildlife institutions or university departments) are available and they can vouch for your professional work. We may ask you to provide additional references, if required.
Grants are provided mainly for field work and not for attending conferences/workshops, nor for purchase of equipment with high capital cost. We do not provide for spotting scopes, tripods, cameras, camera accessories and computers.
If part of your conservation program involves workshops/outreach please provide all details and its usefulness in promoting the conservation aspects of the species you intend to study.
Please note you will be signing an agreement with us and that grants will be given in a phased manner, linked to deliverables. Please justify every item listed in your budget. We expect a proper and orderly accounts system to be maintained by you for the project. You will be required to submit a detailed expenditure statement along with the utilisation certificate signed by statutory auditors. Supporting documents for major expense items in your budget should also be submitted.
Please submit all relevant tax deduction documents as applicable for charitable organisations. Otherwise, we will deduct 10 per cent tax (TDS) from our grants as per Indian Income Tax laws. You will be provided with TDS certificate as soon as it is received from the Tax authorities. Please note statement of expenditures and utilization certificates should be submitted on gross amount of grants and not net of TDS. Please note we don’t allocate funds for contingency.
We accept project proposals all the year round.
Proposals to be typed in Times New Roman in word doc.
